Imagine a normal family dinner at your house and ask yourself if that would be entertaining for anybody to watch. Almost everything is staged in order to boost ratings, because dysfunctional family and friend relationships are entertaining (even if we know in our hearts that it isn't real). Every party, dinner, or hangout in reality television must be ruined with heated arguments or else nobody would tune in. And these people make a lot of money for doing it, so it's not like they're complaining. Does British reality TV not do this? Any one I've seen had some element of drama in it also, but Americans do like to take it a little far. think of it like acting, but that's made out to be real (Like Professional wrestling)!

Yes. Either that or they've sold their soul to be famous for absolutely nothing. I try to avoid reality TV at all costs. If I'm going to watch TV, I prefer something, well written, well acted and well produced. It doesn't have to be a serious piece. A well done sitcom is just as enjoyable for me.

I've been watching various American Reality progs just out of curiosity. Do the people who appear in these shows have to have a degree jn stupidity to appear? What a bunch of laughable idiots.
