With kratom there are 3 different veins that determine what is targeted. Almost all strains provide some pain relief, while green/white veins tend to be more energetic and red veins tend to be more sedating. As a rule Indo's/Borneo's tend to be the most pain relieving while Thai's tend to be more energetic. Malay's/Bali's tend to be the longest lasting with an equal balance of pain relief and energy. So there is quite a wide range to choose from. I personally use kratom in place of Hydrocodone for pain relief and energy so Kali Green Indo and Mitra White Borneo are a few favorites on the standard strains.
In Indiana Kratom is completely banned, and Louisiana has banned the purchase by minors. There was a ban proposed in Arizona but was turned over on Friday. There is still bans pending in Wisconsin and Oklahoma though. So far no other states have proposed any legislatures on Kratom.
Let me also help you get the word out. Side effects can include but are not limited to; nervousness, sleeplessness, loss of libido, constipation and the darkening of skin complexion. Some other side benefits can also include, severe depression and anxiety and emerging opiate withdrawal symptoms, including chills, aching muscles and gooseflesh.
This stuff is banned in many parts of Asian and Europe. For the time being, it (maeng da) is sometimes found in the USA and is falsely sold as "incense". And yes, it IS addictive. Pharmaceutical companies would not benefit from this substance because they would not want to market harmful substances to patients. Don't look for this to be available for long. You will not convince people that this drug is good.

i have a friend who has been heavily using kratom for years and he has suffered no ill effects, i also heard that it can be addictive but he doesn't seem to be addicted because he can do just fine without it. i have another friend who's doctor actually prescribed him kratom for pain (since he used to be a heroine addict) and gave him a bag of kratom. as for me i never used it but my fiance takes it all the time for his back pain.
I was just reading some articles today on Kratom and the fact that some states are trying to ban it or have already done so. If some of you are not aware of what Kratom is I will tell ya: Kratom is an herb related to the coffee plant and it has been used for its medicinal properties, and also for the weening off of opiates for people addicted to Heroin, pain pills, morphine, etc. The big pharma corporations are using their powerful influence and purposely misleading the public in order to have any competition removed from store shelves because they would prefer people continually using methadone, suboxone or other drugs that they can make a profit off of. They are using government officials and the media to tell the public that it is dangerous, addictive (both false) and that its been outlawed in Thailand (it's country of origin) without telling them the reason it was outlawed was for similar reasons we are experiencing in the US. Thailand outlawed Kratom because people were getting free from opium and it scared opium traders to the point they used their influence to ban it. Big pharma is greatly responsible for the massive addiction problem we face today in our country and now they want to profit from it. It upsets me greatly and I feel it necessary to get the word out or to get anyone else's opinion on the subject, thank
