It won't air immediately on January 1, it will air in the UK first and then it can be delayed from a few days to a few weeks for other countries.
It airs on PBS Jan 19th in the US
Jan 1st is just the UK date
It won't air in America on the first. You'll have to watch it via iplayer to see it on that day.

I want to watch season 3 when it aires on 1/1 but i can't find it anywhere. some people say it's bbc america and some say its PBS. i can't even find PBS on comcast and i have all of the channels. this is very irritating to have such limited information for such a popular show.
