I think you would like a series called Persons Unknown. It's a show about 7 people who were kidnapped and dropped off in a mysterious town with no escape. It only had 1 season, but it was really good.
Jericho-is about a people in the town of Jericho, Wyoming surviving the fallout out nuclear attack on major US cities. It's really about politics and the structure of the country. It was really smart. i didn't think I would like it but it's one of my top ten favorite shows. It had 2 seasons, sadly the second season happened during the writers strike so it was only 7 episodes long but it closed out the show.
The Alphas- A Psychiatrist assists the Government in capturing individuals with superhuman abilities who are dangerous, but he's recruited some who are good to help capture them. It had 2 seasons before it was cancelled. it's similar to both the 4400 and Heroes.

They do seem to cancel the more well acted and written shows. I think you will enjoy Persons Unknown simply for that reason, a new idea well written and acted. It keeps you wanting more and then it just ends.
The Event is also good. another one season show but it has sci fi and drama. NBC and ABC seem to be the most afflicted with cancelling good shows.
I really love the show Friends because there it's 75% comedy and 25% romance. There are 6 main characters.
Rachel Green (Jennifer Aniston) - A fun person who mostly does the right thing. She is really into fashion and loves being around her friends.
Monica Geller (Courtney Cox) - A big time chef and dreams of being the head chef at a restaurant. She is known for being bossy and controlling but is a good person.
Phoebe Buffay (Lisa Kudrow) - An aroma therapist who is really fun. She is crazy and sometimes childish. She is a songwriter and singer. (She can't really sing or write good songs.) Phoebe plays her songs at a local coffee shop called Central Perk.
Joey Tribbiani (Matt LeBlanc) - Joey is an unsuccessful actor who has been in many bad TV shows and plays. Joey loves food and he is very dim-witted. Joey is really caring and always means well.
Chandler Bing (Matthew Perry) - A umm... (no one really knows his job.) He always makes stupid jokes and uses humour to feel good about himself. He can be annoying but he still is a good friend.
Ross Geller (David Schwimmer) - Monica's older brother. He has a PHD in palaeontology and is really funny. He talks too much about his job and bores everyone when he talks about it.

ok im currently watching 4400 im on season four i started watching it maybe 5 days ago? its a good tv show im also watching walking dead ,once upon a time and orange is the new black im waiting for new episodes to come out witch will come around feb 2014, right now to me the best tv show ever is lost it shows what happen when they crash and it shows what happen if they didnt crash and they still meet up with each other lol its crazy i finshed lost a couple months ago but i feel i can watch it again which is crazy i watch prison break but im all over with that i watched different seasons so im all over ..i watched heros im all over with different seasons idk where to start with heros and prison break....so what are the good tv shows like the best of the best in ur opinion ..... i like tv shows where at the end of the episode u dont know whats gonna happen like theres a groupe of people and there choosen to do some thing ....like in lost jack never new he had a sister and then he found out .....i like tv shows like that and again where they all met on the plane and met again when they landed ...i like tv shows like that and stuff so whats ur best tv show and why???? thanks!@@@@@@
