when you heard the news of thatcher's death, what do you think/say?
I was upset because I was a life long supporter of her and her style of government. Ok she made mistakes , who doesn't?, but in general she did a lot more good for the UK than harm , and I wish she was our prime minister now.
Areal sad thing for me was though the hateful comment made by people who were not even alive during Margret's terms has PM. I was in Glasgow Scotland at the time of her death and saw teenage kids dancing in the streets decrying her name.
I say long live Margret the country owes you a sincere debt of gratitude.
Mrs Thatcher divided the nation. Some people got rich when she was Prime Minister. Some people had their lives ruined and were left with no job and no future. In my view she did some good things for the nation but these were outweighed by the bad ones. It felt like Britain became a more selfish, less caring society under her leadership. Some mourned while some celebrated her passing.
Sad that this woman died not knowing who she had once been because she had Alzheimer's. A good leader who was voted in 3 times but in the end she had to go as she became inflexible. People who rejoiced her death had not lived through the 70's with it's constant strikes and power cuts. She curbed the power of the Unions something socialists cannot forgive or forget.
I thought it was terribly sad that the death of someone who served this country selflessly should be celebrated by a political group who only have their own interests at heart, most of the people were not even able to vote let alone understand her policies when she was in power. The fact that she was voted into power 3 times says she was doing the right thing. Being born in 1977, I grew up with my own father hating her but as I grew up and formed my own opinions i come to the realisation that the nation was lucky to have such a leader, someone who dares to stand up for what they believe.
Dear friends of mine lost their home because of her bank interest hikes.
She sold off NHS cleaning contracts to the cheapest bidder making hospitals filthy dirty.
Her sale of our utility companies is exactly why greedy share-holders increase their prices whenever they feel like it & from those who can afford it the least.
I feel the same about about her now as I did back then.
She's was an awful rotten to the core self-centred woman.
Good riddance to bad rubbish.
Some sympathy and regret. She was a formidable woman and a strong leader. She was against a federal Europe and showed Britain's decline was reversible. No one has matched her in recent History.
a very impressionable u may like her or hate her but could not ignore her ... she lived in America longer through follower of her policies and lives in Asian countries .. first generate wealth and then talk of distribution and not other way around
thatcher ruined my job, and my mental health, she can rot.
It happens.
She had been dead to me for years.
