The US President in national address to the American people about 2 weeks ago said the US will kill ISIS if it takes 1000 years. Under UN mandate 42 nations including the US, Canada, Australia, the UK, the EU, NATO, all the Arab nations, the Arab League have all joined against ISIS. They have been expelled from Islam.
The US could defeat them alone but has requested a collation through the UN and NATO EU alliance. ISIS hold the land between Damascus and Baghdad, their capitol at Mosul Iraq. They rule the land there by terror, savagery, pirating , extortion, kidnapping and murder. The civilian populations streams out to get away. US, NATO, French air strikes, and now UK hit ISIS. The Australians have sent 800 troops, and UK and Canada commando troops, to join up to 2000 American troops.
But they are an estimated 30,000 Jihadi terrorist ISIS fighters, they have no air force, no navy, all funding cut off....The alliance can take them and will but they'll try to strike back here in Canada, Australia, UK, US so we're all on alert.
I've got some bad news and some bad news. Yes, we are going to be at war with the Fundamentalist rabid Muslims. Yes, it is going to be a long, brutal war. Yes, the war will still be going on hundreds of years from now. The only good news is that ISIS hates just about everybody. All Muslims will not turn against us because ISIS thinks a lot of them are not "Muslim enough" and they should be killed first.
Yes - as a military force ISIL can be defeated. Estimated numbers vary from 30 - 60,000 and they do have some sophisticated weapons, captured from Iraqi forces.
They have some experienced Colonels helping to direct their operations - which have included blatant terrorism (join us or die/kidnappings/beheadings, etc) wherein lies cause for greatest concern.
Bin Laden's - and other terrorist groups - managed to cause widespread harm, dislocation and expense - engaged in a secretive (cowardly) fashion.
ISIL can be halted and defeated in open warfare - but 1000s of its jihadist warriors have come from across the world - and will presumably return home at some stage - with every likelihood of continuing their 'struggle' elsewhere.
Here in the UK, it's thought our security sevices have had about 2000 suspects under surveillance - but quite a few of those who have gone out to join ISIL appear to have been newly recruited/radicalised - not on the suspect list.
A defeated ISIL jihadist - from say Bradford, England - with family connections in, say Pakistan - can quite easily make his/her way back to Britain - claiming recent absence was i) as a student ii) holidaying with relatives iii) an aid-worker providing humane relief to refugees in the god-forsaken middle-east ?
But which is witch - and who's the next potential suicidal bomber-martyr ?
Your fears are completely baseless. Calling ISIS "Islam" is like calling Nazis "Christian."
None of the terrorists are following the true teachings of Islam anymore than the Nazis followed Jesus Christ.
There are over 1 billion Muslims in the world - including over a million in the US and thousands in Canada. You may even know some Muslims and not even know it. After all they are just people, like you or me.
ISIS is around 30,000 kooks with guns. Against the combined armed forces of the US, England, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, and other countries, they don't stand a chance.
Well I'd sure hope so. All this money going toward our military and all the troops that we have, I'd be thoroughly pissed off if we couldn't. Plus we have other countries that would help us out. So I don't think we have too much to worry about.
The US alone cannot take ISIS alone. The UK announced they will help the US build forces to stop ISIS. But they are only targeting ISIS in the Middle East; ISIS is all over the world.
Unlike most worry warts on Yahoo...the US military is not overly concerned with some idiots in pickup trucks. If you feel better lock your doors and start an ISIS block watch. There is already a war and it has been ongoing. The jihadis, whatever their name of the season, want to take over the world.

I've just recently started to hear about this Isis crisis, and I'm terrified this time I really think war is gonna happen, based on how they already beheaded a couple people, they're clearly serious. Can USA defeat them with the help from Canada, I live in Canada and I'm terrified that all of a sudden all Muslims turn against us here and start killing people, can we be defeated? There's million more Muslims then there are Christians and others. I feel like Isis is gonna take over, help!?
