This is the first I have heard it. But it makes it, I think, an easier exit for Sami and EJ to be going about the same time... I had trouble figuring what they were going to do with him without Sami anyway as she is the whole reason he was brought on.

No, it will not be the same with him gone but I was watching before he got there (including his birth one year after Sami had Will), I was watching before Sami and Eric were born. Every new actor that comes in and every regular that leaves makes it not the same but the show has been hanging on for almost 50 years.

So sad but Sami leaving gets to me more.

Even though EJ is annoying at times, it's definitely going to be weird without him there and Sami for that matter =/

Oh I hadn't heard that. I hate that he is leaving . I wonder if they plan on replacing him.

This is completely devastating!!!! His is now a classic character and the soap will never be the same without him!! RIP Ejami!!!
