The fact is, our government is in the process of tracking and taking over our lives. Obama's new mega spy center, when completed will be 7x larger than the Pentagon. Right now the Pentagon is the largest office building in North America. Obama's spy center will be 15x larger than the MetLife center where the NY Giants and Jets play.
Every email, cell phone call, text message and financial transaction will be tracked from birth to death. Snowden gave up his freedom, family and likely his life for every American to warn them that BIG BROTHER is now here.
Snowden is a Patriot although he will also do some genuine harm to our intellegence against terrorists as well.
We deserve to know the truth about our government and some people need to stop living in denial. Edward Snowden gave up a lot to do the right thing and I support him.
The government has lied to the American people about its surveillance programs and has possibly broken several federal laws (not to mention violating the constitution.)
You could argue about Snowden's methods, but his decision to make the public aware of these programs was a good one.
After all, how many times have we been told "See something, say something." Well, that's what he did, even knowing full well that he would never be able to safely return to the US.
I prefer knowing the US government is spying on everyone and that other countries are complicate including mine, i don't like secrets especially coming from people who do nothing about climate change, start numerous wars to exploit poverty stricken nations, arm terrorists, allow banks and corporations to commit numerous crimes without being punished and imprison & torture people without a trial but that's just me
