The Onion is a comedy publication and so anything the Onion says is pretty much guaranteed to be not true (for humor's sake).
But as for whether Osama bin Laden is actually dead, unfortunately because of our government's lack of transparency and it's obsession with secrecy we will never know whether Osama was actually killed and if he was killed we will never know if he was actually dumped in the ocean like they claimed he was. Unfortunately our government doesn't respect us Americans enough to actually tell us the truth about things. They government has lied so many times in the past and keeps SOOOO many things secret AND is so misleading and deceptive and evasive in their language in press conferences that we really can't trust anything they say.
