Only you can answer that question. Most people identify a Brony as someone who encompasses the Brony fandom as a whole. Someone who both loves the show and the Brony created content. However, there are many people who identify themselves as just fans of the show, who are more of a casual nature and who like just certain aspects of the show or fandom. This sounds to me more like what you're describing yourself as.

But you have to answer the question. There is nothing wrong with being a Brony. In the end, a Brony is just an adult fan of the show. So it's up to you if you think you are a big enough fan who would consider themselves as a Brony.

Or you can look at it this way:

Fan of MLP = A general interest of the show or fandom. May like only certain aspects of the show. (A non hardcore fan.)

Brony = A true dedicated fan. Someone who may collect merchandise and like a broader range of the fandom or show. May attend cons and even cosplay as characters. (A hardcore fan.)

Or are you a hybrid? Someone in between. A casual Brony? Someone who loves most things from the fandom and show. likes to purchase merchandise, but may have no intention of going to cons or dressing as characters. Someone who may, or may not talk about the show or fandom with others online.

It's up to you. "Brony" is a very fluid and subjective term. Someone in your position could consider themselves one if they wanted, and someone who's a major fan of the show but not the fan works could. Others may disagree, but like I said, it's very subjective.

Brony is just a label that makes it easier to define and identify those who like the show and/or its fan works. If you don't want to be, that's fine. Inversely, you shouldn't e afraid of being a brony either, it is just a word after all! :)

No I wouldn't consider you a brony. You're just a fan. Bronies love everything about MLP; they don't nitpick the episodes. They love Everything.

I'm going to stay anonymous on this topic because I'm unsure of how the public view these kinds of questions.

I never really considered myself a Brony because it is rare for there to be an episode of MLP: FiM that I enjoy, the only ones I can think of are: Princess Twilight Sparkle Part 1, Lesson Zero, Party of One and Power Ponies (To a degree because I like the Joker parody).

But I enjoy a lot of fan-made stuff such as: Cupcakes, My Little Dashie, Smile HD, CinemareSins, Don't Mine at Night (Pony Parody), etc.

So even if I prefer fan-made stuff, do I count as a Brony?
