Yes, they do get paid. If you're just some college frat guy on 'The Real World'- you get paid a small amount. Legally, they're not allowed to share the amount they're paid though. As for reality stars that are widely known, like the Kardashians or the cast of Jersey Shore- they get paid millions over time.
Most of them do. But some don't. Like the Contestants on the Bachelor/ette don't get paid. They just get paid by having a free vacation. The actual Bachelor/ette does get paid though.
