There should be no need for military action by anyone if President Putins plan is genuine and not a delaying tactic. We must be very careful and not let Russia get the upper hand. In retaliation, perhaps to help in the fight against these opposition, Assad regime may be launch (this time it MIGHT just be HIM) a couple of shells into Tel Aviv, or simply use one of the newest rockets aimed at one of the Air carriers in the Mediterranean Sea... and might get lucky to kill a few Americans.
4. Embolden with the attack, he might just launch an attack on the oil fields in Saudi Arabia, actually cutting off oil supply to the West... and you will be out of luck, because the guy who employs you will not be able to afford to pay for that, putting you in UI or Welfare, and your family.

Approximately one million more people would probably exit Syria via the borders of Turkey (and the Kurds will use this opportunity to take over from the Turks the Government of their region, even up to Iraq), collapsing the economy of the region and possibly affecting the economy in Germany, which is mainly their source of business.
6. The sudden increment of expenditures, the social price paid by the immigration problems, may affect the economy of closed linked societies in the region: Jordan, Turkey and Greece. Now, the EU has a real problem to support that sector of their economy, held together by the loans given to Greece, Portugal and Spain (with almost 25% unemployed). Now the EU will be in real problems to face the investors, in which the US and Canada are just a few.

If the chemical weapons are truly out of the hands of the Assad regime, then there is no reason for the US to attack Syria.
I still think Assad should be arrested and put on trial for his actions, but that is a different matter.
We should NOT attack Syria. Syria has not attacked the United States. We are NOT the United Nations.
