I watched it during its first run and when TBS first had the reruns. I thought the first season was dreadful; too many extra characters. It got better with season two. I even admit to liking the two films they did. My fave episode is the one where Carrie models in a fashion show and falls down on the runway; could watch that one over and over. I don't watch it at the present time, even though I have the movies on disc.
No. What a horrible way to make women look. Especially carrie the most self absorbed, immature, heartless, materialistic woman alive with her other dysfunctional friends. Their lives are just about the materials they acquire and how they go from sleeping with one man to another because of their poor self esteem. They then complain that real men who respect them don't want them when they don't even respect themselves. Their lives are empty. How is this an empowering show for women? The movies were even worse especially proving what a monster Carrie is.
and i'm not a prude btw or an antifeminist. This show however is far from being a feminist show and isn't really about sexual freedom. It shows how miserable and empty these women are. Like they never finished high school! Is this what women fought for when they fought for rights? To be this empty minded as Carrie?
