No, i think they are just a way for lazy producers/writers to cash in on easy money. If im going to sit for an hour of my time in front of the TV, I expect quality writing and story telling, not poorly scripted "reality" shows with fake contestants and rigged results..
No, it isn't real and sometimes scripted. However, if they did a reality show on the lives of homeless people in homeless shelters there's something I'd watch.
