Does anyone else wish Dexter never ended ?

What I wish is that they had hired a new showrunner and a new writing staff before the 6th season began, so that the last three years could have been as good as the first four seasons. And that they never would have given us (what can only be described as) the worst finale of all time.

I would have loved to have watched the show indefinitely if they had maintained the quality of the early seasons.

But by the time they got to the 7th season, the writing staff was running on fumes, and had no new ideas left. And the showrunner actually thought it was a good idea to have Dexter kill his own sister (the best-loved character on the show) and feed her body to the sharks. He's still defending that bonehead move today!

So no, if that guy was still in charge, I wouldn't be interested in seeing more of it. But if they got some fresh blood in the writing room, and new leadership, then yes, I'd love to see where they could take the show.

Frankly, I think Michael C. Hall will eventually come back for more, and somewhere down the road, we'll see more of "Dexter". Unfortunately, I suspect that the same people who gave us that horrible finale will be in charge. And if that's the case, I won't tune in.

It should of ended sooner. The show was crap by season 5 and they dragged it out way too long.

I miss that show.....I feel like it wouldn't be that difficult to continue with the story...like a real explanation for the end of the series...

I agree with Alan it should of ended sooner.

I am OK with the fact that the show is over. there might be a spin-off, showtime said there is a possiblity for a spin-off.

I know that 8 seasons was a lot and some people think it mite have been flogging a dead horse but the way it ended and how good it was makes me just want to ******* watch it forever will there ever be a return to dexters new life in the near future for us to watch ?
