Stupid? It's absolutely moronic. Krasinsky should be ashamed of himself for associating with such an intelligence insulting commercial.
esurance/allstate's intent here is not to make sense, but to clutter and confuse people memory of Geico's slogan "15 minutes can save you 15% on car insurance".
Allstate thinks any possible resulting confusion is worth the insult to the viewer's intelligence. A footnote on this is that in independent tests using both esurance & Geico websites- Geico provided a quote on average, 8 seconds faster than esurance did.
VERY MUCH SO... more relevant to me would be how much time it takes em to settle a claim.
Geico all the way. here's why
i had a friend that had State Farm (very lousy in my opinion) for 9 years had 2 accidents that where NOT her fault in a year and a half... (the last guy ran a stop and T boned her car).
State Farm, after nine years of loyalty, was refusing to pay her claim (about $3800 dollars) and threatening to drop her.
i told her drop them and file a lawsuit to collect and get Geico.
Sure as heck she was sitting at a light in her new to her car (temp tags still on it) when some fool test driving a Nissan Pathfinder hits a Ford Expedition so hard it rammed into her rear and knocked her trunk up to the back window.
Sending her into an active intersection about 30 feet with two others in the car... her young daughter in the back. just grace no one was injured or killed.
the fool takes off running and the cops catch him later, her car is destroyed and Geico cut a check for $9000 dollars with the ink still wet on her policy.
when she told me that i said "i told you so"
i don't know how Esurance handles it's claims but to be boasting about saving somebody 7.5 minuets is a waste of good advertisement dollars to me that $9000 dollar check on a brand new claim told me EVERYTHING i needed to know...
The thing is, they still don't, "tell" you how they supposedly save you money either. Their stupid spiel about being, "Born on line, raised by technology, and majors in efficiency." is just meaningless bullshit similar to some company telling you that they are, "world class". Their latest commercial which is a poke at Geico's, "15 minutes can save you 15%" is that they can provide a quote is 7 1/2 minutes. How f'n stupid. Reminds me of that scene from the movie, "Something About Mary" where Ben Stiller pickups up the whacko hitchhiker who talks about his, "7 minute abs" idea as being so much greater than the, "8 minute abs" workout routine.
Basically I find about 99.99% of all television commercials to be a complete insult to my intelligence. The stupidity that comes from Madison Avenue is absolutely mind numbing.
are you kidding me??? 7 1/2 minutes??? wow that must save millions and millions of dollars. idiots
Idk, it's just retarded. "Other insurance companies don't tell you how they're saving you money". Really? Who cares how the insurance company gives you discounts, I would think people would care more about getting the discount than knowing how the company affords to do it. I think the marketing advisors for Esurance are idiots. Anyone else?
