Flapjack news story, are they making matters worse?

My thoughts exactly. Four points are more dangerous than three. If a mere mortal like me can figure that one out then why can't the brainiacs at the school?

A spokesman for the Health and Safety Executive said: "We often come across half-baked decisions taken in the name of health and safety, but this one takes the biscuit.

"The real issue isn't what shape the flapjacks are, but the fact that pupils are throwing them at each other - and that's a matter of discipline, and has got nothing to do with health and safety as we know it.

It's the usual British disease: ignore root causes of problems, and only tackle symptoms or secondary causes.

The root cause of the safety issue was throwing food - get the kids disciplined so they stop throwing the bloody food - it doesn't matter what shape it is!

If only we could go back to good old semolina or spotted dick and custard there would be no need for this nonsense. Importing these new fancy flap jack thingamijiggies! Pfft, these Lefties will be expecting our kids to eat other foreign muck like pizzas next! Multi culturalism gone mad I tell ye!

The world has gone f***ing mad and the Brits in particular lead the way. Who the f**k makes triangular flapjacks??! WHO!!!??

Lol they lack common sense and shouldn't be teaching......circles have no corners at all!

@ Stan...we are all just having a laugh, our schools are packed with left-wing, politically correct numpties who shouldn't be teaching kids in the first place and we know it:)

a hexagon would be preferable, it tessellates into a lossless pattern

They should change their shape. They could be used for terrorist purposes ?

Castle View School in Canvey Island, Essex, has banned triangular flapjacks after a pupil was hit in the face by one. Dinner staff were told to cut the treat into squares or rectangles following the incident.

Er... excuse me. Squares have four pointed corners, one more than triangles, so the recommended action will increase the risk.

Please campaign to urge them to change shape to circles instead.
