It sounds like you might enjoy a series about alternate Earths. Check out "Sliders". It's great until the final season when it starts getting kind of weird.
Doctor who is my favorite ever t.v show, and by far the best scifi television show ever. Give it a while, the first person who plays the doctor isnt as fun as the ones after, but he was still great.
If you havent breaking bad, that is deffiantly worth the watch. Its the top rated tv series of all time and its truly fantastic if given a try.
