Has matt smith ruined doctor who?

Personally Matt was awesome. There were episodes that were wonderfully written and I felt series 6 was one of the best series created (sorry I know I know, but my first would be the Key to Time series). The story arc was cool but the one thing I do agree with people who feel it was ruined is that when Moffat writes a series or an episode it'll start out really good. Like Eleventh era was awesome but with the Christmas episode I felt he took everything and put it in a blender and didn't bother to carefully explain everything over his entire era. I was disappointed. So to a degree I do a agree with you, I think Moffat got lazy in the end, and Clara sucks like seriously her storyline pisses me off which makes me hate her and I've never disliked a companion before so that is saying something. But I think Matt Smith's Doctor was wonderful, its just a shame Moffat dumped him in the garbage can in the end.

of course not , Matt is the best and most Doctor like so far in the new series I did like Chris, The Tennant era(not his faulty)turned into little more than a teen soap opera. Moffat what he can is try to return it to some semblance of the show it once was

Your criticisms are about the writing rather than Matt, who in any case has now gone. Time of the Doctor made no sense whatsoever, and far from resolving the story arc of the eleventh Doctor, was clearly patching up gaps over the past four years. Time makes me angry - all this silliness about the Doctor having run out of regenerations - he didn't seem to know this in Impossible Astronaut when he tried to regenerate, nor in Time of the Angels when he donated regeneration energy to River to mend her arm, something she said was a waste, nor in Let's Kill Hitler when he says he can regenerate to cure him of River's poison but the TARDIS tells him the poison has disabled his regenerative powers. All a nonsense and such a shame because the thirteenth Doctor could have had a cracking run of stories playing on his being the last body - but somehow solving the problem then - in about ten years' time! Selfish Moff.

Although, Pond's missing family was explained - they were missing because of the crack, and once the cracks were resolved, they returned. They never featured because Moff didn't write anything for them, but they were at her wedding.

I don't know why, but I just enjoyed the show with David Tennant in it. Don't know if it was the actor or the writing, but I just didn't like the most recent seasons.

My problem is with Jenna Coleman. She has to be the most "distant" companion of all-time. She just isn't very convincing. She's acting and not acting naturally. Christopher and David never had such a lame companion. I don't think its Matts fault to be honest.

I think the writers did ruin it but Matt is great.

Agree. I think its because we knew about the previous characters families but with Pond she didn't even have a family and we know nothing about Clara or her family.

I mean just what is Clara supposed to be anyway.

And how come Pond had no family was that ever explained ?

He didn't do nearly as much damage as Rose, who turned it into The Rose Show. It took several years to get pass that mess.

I think that matt smith along with the writers of the show have ruined doctor who. Before when david tennant was on it, there wasnt too much stupid stuff like with matt smith but now, there seems to be loads of really ridiculous stuff on it but when both christopher ecclestone and david tennant were on it, i connected with the characters in way which i couldnt do with matt smith or clara. There isnt much character development in the 5th,6th and only a little in season 7. In the older doctor whos, i cared about the characters but i cant anymore. could it be that i have grown out of it or is it actually got worse?
