Bob Marley's cancer was the deadly form of skin cancer called melanoma. Most often (as with all skin cancers) melanoma is caused by overexposure to the sun (UV rays.)
The melanoma began in his big toe. Doctors recommended he have the toe amputated however, due to his religious beliefs (Rastafarian) Marley refused. By the time he changed his mind regarding treatment it was too late, the cancer had quickly spread to his lungs, liver, stomach and brain.
Regarding the marijuana - if anything, after the progression of the disease, marijuana may have had some therapeutic value (i.e. helped with anxiety, appetite, nausea, etc.)
he had skin cancer, melanoma, in his big too on his right foot. the melanoma appeared after a football injury but Bob was in New York at the time and didn't get it seen to right away. by the time he did see a doctor they told him he would have to get his foot amputated but he enjoyed playing football too much and refused the surgery. when he returned to Jamaica he went to get advise from a rastafari doctor who told him he only needed the part of the toe that was affected by melanoma removed that way he could still do physical activities so he agreed.
However in the time between the melanoma first appearing and the amputation the cancer had spread to his brain, stomach and lungs. by the time it was found it was too late. although he did survive through 3 years of chemotherapy in Germany where is dreads fell out.
If we knew how everyone got cancer we would be able to prevent and cure it 100%

I think it was a drug overdose, shame he was a great performer and song writer and musician.
I think he died from cancer if so how did he get cancer? Did the marijuana Effect him? If anyone knows some history about him I'd like to know
