How likely is nuclear war?

It's "just" a conflict.

Sure a lot of people are in need and there's a lot of fighting.

But there is is no reason what so ever to use nuclear weapons.

This conflict will pass in time. It's just diplomatic arrogance that drives it.

They want the ground, nuking it would make it worthless.

Nobody wants to use nukes, because they know what happens to their cities if they do.

Such a situation would also harm an extremely amount of innocent people and thus make the country that called the order divide into different groups.

A civil-war/revolution will be the result, people will revolt and the country will destroy itself.

The media likes to make people assume the extreme. I'm not saying that it's acceptable what's going on there, but it's not likely to go full scale.

Very, very unlikely. Non rogue nations only fear rogue nations, because rogue nations don't care whether the shops open on Saturday or not.

You may think that answer to be vague or even irrelevant... but it is horrifyingly close to the truth. In all human history, the major military decisions have been made on the basis of the financial impact of the conduct of war.

Human beings have a long and inglorious history of murdering millions to turn a profit. Every historical empire (the Romans, the Greeks, the Ottomans, the Chinese, the British, the Austria-Hungarians...) all succeeded or failed on their economies. None were decisively defeated in battle.

If McDonalds starts advertising a 'Shelter-Burger'... then start worrying. Even more so if it comes with a side order of 'shrapnel fries' and a spicy hospital dressing.

Nuclear war is less likely now than it was back in the madness of my youth in the 1950s. Worry not, it's not going to happen and nor are we - not even in our wildest nightmares, ever going to take on the awesome might of the Russian Army. It would be total insanity even to contemplate such an idea.

Historical note: The Russians have never been defeated on their own territory. And, there's the blizzard of the Russian Winter to contend with.

No, it's not going to happen.

If it does, take my advice, get out the deck chairs in the garden and lay back and wait for the instant sun-tan burn up.

None. This isn't the Cold War anymore and if one country nukes another they more then likely know what the response back will be.

Nukes just dont work out in tbe end, no no, the new weapon of choce I would use on REAL countrys like china, russia, civilized ones...EMP bomb, takes out all electricity, yeah theirs still figting, but with todays techies like Google wanting everything on the net...There will be mass chaos.....

It's not.
