Y&R will still be around once the fans get used to the new Adam, Billy and Phyllis but I wish they would make some new storylines since it does get boring with the same ole same ole triangles with that soap too.
Haven't seen a blast or a cat fight in a long time now....not just the slap in the face either.
I can see DOOL and GH going down within another year or 2.
Both Y&R and B&B are hot tickets!
As for the game shows and reality shows they can leave anytime now...already!
Well I can't believe GH is still on the air after all it is the Sonny show and PULEZ as much as he wants to think he is an actor .... he's not .... the soap went with Luke and Laura well that's over and Sonny will be also, they got rid of Alan Quartermaine and that was a stupid mistake ... looks like Days has survived Bo leaving and it will also move on without Sami and EJ ..... B&B is the same old thing with one person always being the star of the show .... BUT Y&R HAS to keep going as much as they have changed characters we like, it's still the best on ..... what else would Victor, Nikki, Jack, Lauren, and Michael do? I hope seriously this soap is here for awhile longer.
Soap Operas will continue as long as it is profitable for the networks to produce them. Frankly I cannot imagine not knowing what happened on the Y&R today. Maybe movies about these communities will replace them. A lot of ppl are sick of the boring game shows or sports shows. Soap Operas take a person out of their own world and into another world. Remember, "As the World Turns, or Days of Our Lives? The Bold and the Beautiful, and The Young and the Restless? General Hospital? Just the titles themselves say a lot about Soap Operas, how and what they convey to the public day to day.
The most interesting soaps are the ones by Tyler Perry. The night soaps seem to be most popular since the prime time shows are getting worse each year.
Y&R may last for a long while yet, and the others while probably be around for a few more years yet.
I can see them lasting at least 5 more years.

I feel like the ones with the most international appeal, like the Bold and the Beautiful, can probably continue for decades longer, but I'm not sure about some of them...
All the soaps I followed daily are already gone, but I still check in regularly and enjoy The Bold and the Beautiful and The Young and the Restless. I just wonder how much longer they have. It's a shame this form of storytelling is losing out to game shows and reality tv...
