The world will end but not like you think. 12/21/12 is the last date on the Mayan long count calendar. The Mayans said that there will be a huge change to the world on that date and that the changes will be very severe. Religiously, god says that there will be a judgement day and that the resurrection of the dead will also take place. The world may end but start again with a new beginning. Hope this helps.
