It starts off quite slow and doesn't pick up speed until the plot thickens half way through the 1st Season. Once you have finished the 1st, you'll want to watch all 9 Seasons.
I believe it's the character development and plot twists that make it so special, but it does depress me when they kill off great characters!

No it is not over rated at all there are very few things not to like about it bag it has great character development and amazing plot lines I'm on season 8 right now and I have to say I think the first 6 seasons were the best but definitely worth the watch
I think the first 5 seasons were really good and not overrated & were actually awesome, but from season 6 on I feel it has gone downhill and extremely overrated. :(
