They are both really good but season four is better. Season 3 happened during the writer's strike so it is shorter than the other seasons.
I liked all the seasons of Supernatural except six. I'd still recommend watching six, for plot development, but I didn't enjoy it much overall.
Yes, both are really good, but I like season 4 better mostly because that's when they introduce the angels.
I have not seen either season, as I am on season two. However, I am pretty sure that most people do like them, especially season four.
