I never finished the series. I grew bored. I love the idea of supernatural things and all that sort, so I thought I'd fall in love seven times over. It didn't happen. It became repetitive and boring. (Kind of like Naruto, when I tried to get through that.)
I wouldn't recommend it, but I can't speak for you. I'd watch a few episodes and decide for yourself.
I'm a fan of the show.
I'm not a rabid fan, but I think the show has some really good qualities..
It's not perfect, by no means, and it has been struggling the past few seasons..
The first five seasons were the best, but for a show that's been on the air for nine years, it's holding it's own..
I'll be watching until the series finale..
Good things about the show - The acting..especially Jensen Ackles' (Dean Winchester).
He's a very very good actor.
It's a pretty good show. However, the first season was the weakest. It took them all of season 1 to finally find their groove, so that may be why your family gave up on it. My husband and I started watching and gave up halfway through season 1. A friend convinced us to give it another try a year or two ago and we watched seasons 1-6 on Netflix and were impressed once we made it into season 2, when it became more serialized.
I would say it is pretty good if you are into the supernatural. Other wise perhaps not. The type of monsters, spirits, mythological creatures is divers which shall widen your view over the types of creatures that some people do believe exist or simply mythical creatures people also still believe exist or have existed.
But why let people tell you what or what not to watch?! Just check out 1-2 episodes yourself and decide what you want to view :)
"Supernatural" is my favorite show ever! and if u like those type of shows, then here's some more suggestions. demons, being human, lost girl, haven, teen wolf, true blood, vampire diaries, the originals, big wolf on campus, merlin, the legend of the seeker, sleepy hollow, reaper, todd and the book of pure evil, charmed, hex, the secret circle, fringe, jekyll and hide, sherlock, witches of east end, the walking dead, moonlight, bitten, buffy, angel, x-files, mutant x, blood ties, the medium, ghost whisperer, hercules, xena, warehouse 13, sanctuary, eastwick, american gothic, american horror story, alias, dark shadows, kolchack: the night stalker, knite rider, twin peaks, smallville, lois and clark, blade, arrow, the tomorrow people, birds of prey, carnival, dracula and im sure there are more. lol. just off the top of my head.

Everyone online and at school seems to think its amazing. But my brother who I generally always agree with as fare as TV shows go, thinks other wise. He said its one of the most overrated shows he's ever seen. He said its the stupid mans Being Human. He said its not a bad show but it's kinda dumb. I don't no if I would disagree with him because my mom also said she's seen it and wasn't impressed. She said she thought she'd really like it but could never get into it and was shocked when I told her about its online following. So is it good in your opinion or do you agree with my mom and brother? Also give me reasons on why it is or isn't good, don't just say "it's so good!! Cuz it's like so cool!!" Or "it's overrated yeah."
