Not canceled. The contract is just going to expire. I'd rather say that it just ran its course, and he's moved on. It's almost like an athlete entering free agency and signing with a new team.
They will probably find someone to take that timeslot and run a similar show. Don't be surprised if it's John Oliver.
I would imagine so. His contract with Comedy Central runs out at the end of this year, just before Letterman retires, and I doubt he'd have time to do both even if he wanted to.
