"Rumors of an apocalypse in 2012 are being spread by people in order to make money."

NASA has an entire website that disproves all those doomsday claims:
Q: What is the origin of the prediction that the world will end in 2012?
A: The story started with claims that Nibiru, a supposed planet discovered by the Sumerians, is headed toward Earth. This catastrophe was initially predicted for May 2003, but when nothing happened the doomsday date was moved forward to December 2012. Then these two fables were linked to the end of one of the cycles in the ancient Mayan calendar at the winter solstice in 2012 -- hence the predicted doomsday date of December 21, 2012.

Also this from Mayan experts:
"Mayans never predicted world to end in 2012: experts"
"(Reuters) - If you are worried the world will end next year based on the Mayan calendar, relax: the end of time is still far off.
So say Mayan experts who want to dispel any belief that the ancient Mayans predicted a world apocalypse next year.
"We have to be clear about this. There is no prophecy for 2012," said Erik Velasquez, an etchings specialist at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM)."

A planet-size object close enough to hit Earth in less than 20 days would be the biggest, brightest object in the night sky.
It'd be visible in daytime too.
There's over 190 countries in the world. Nobody's seeing anything because nothing's there.
-All anyone has to do to disprove the 2012 = Doomsday hoax is go outside and look up.
That's so obvious it's shocking that people are so ignorant and stupid they don't realize it.
Someone said she received a mail from 'NASA' saying this. Yeah, right
What's the end of the world on 21 December 2012 going to be this time?
The solar system passing through a "photon belt" near Alcyone? Good story, but photons do not form belts, Alcyone is moving away from us and it was all supposed to happen about 1958.
The return of Jesus, yet again? How many dates have been predicted for that?
Planet X which was supposed to be here in May 2003 having another go at us? Why can't we see planet X if it's a few weeks away? Why could we not see it in 2003 when it was first supposed to be here?
Invasion of the annunaki from Nibiru looking for gold? Why can't we see Nibiru if it's a few weeks month away?
The rapture, yet again? How many dates have been predicted for that?
All the planets in the solar system lining up, even though they cannot and will not, and doing . . . something somehow? Must be magic because it sure will not be gravity. Wasn't that supposed to happen in 1999?
Solar flares, which happen around five times a week on a long term average.
Coronal mass ejections on the Sun which are fairly common - like the one on 14 July 2012. Notice anything, did you?
A line up of the Sun and the Earth or something with the centre of the galaxy, which comes vaguely close twice every year is supposed to do . . . something? Must be magic because it sure will not be gravity.
The solar system crossing the central plane of the galaxy, when we don't actually know where that is?
Aliens invade (no, not the annunaki)?
Prophecies that the Maya didn't make will be fulfilled?
Prophecies that the old French faker Nostradamus didn't make will be fulfilled?
The entire thing is delusion, superstition and lies invented by the reality challenged and used by the ethically challenged to make money from the mentally challenged and anyone who promotes it is a scum sucking bottom feeder and that particularly includes the greed-ridden suits who run the History Channel.
Nasa did have a news conference denouncing the end of the world theories . It was about a week ago. I am worried about the fate of the human race though --- when so many of our future leaders buy into such nonsense.
Its really best to not listen to the mutterings of naive people. The sun will dawn on the 22nd all fresh and raring to go as it has for a millennial. The world really will end in 5 billion years when our Sun implodes and comes to the end of its life.Life on planet Earth will then be impossible and it will be a dead planet. The inhabitants of the far,far future will have gone to another world I expect, perhaps Mars.
I'm glad to tell you it's not true the world was "going to end" a doesn times throughout the years..
you mean is life on earth going to end.
yes, eventually an advanced alien civilization will arrive in space crafts and eat us.
Only the biggest ***** believe in it.. NO!!!
bing bang boom ur done mate
So my family and I planned to travel to Indonesia, we're flying on the 21st Dec 2012, 'end of the world' day. Now out of the sudden they say they want to cancel the trip because of this. Someone said she received a mail from 'NASA' saying this and that. I mean, really? I'm skeptical about this. First of all, I mean if NASA wants to announce it, they wouldn't send it to your mail unless you're the director or something =.= And secondly, you're God if you can predict the world's ending. But at the same time, my family is beginning to worry. I thought everyone's okay about it? And we watched the uhh 2012 movie ?! I'm in such dilemma, to believe or not to believe? Mom's freaking out, yay.
So, tell me, wise people on Y!A , is it true? :O I'm serious.
