When I was going to school, school ended around 3:00-3:30pm. So...why waste your time? You're still going to be marked as absent from the school's point of view.
In my school you can, but it's of no use. School in my country ends at 2.30, so going at 2 will mean I have only 30 minutes before going back home :/
