Tough call, both were hilarious. I choose Taxi. And why, well, three episodes I remember that elevated the show into the stratosphere of comedy. Two of them were with Reverend Jim.
The first was when the gang was helping his license and Bobby was trying to help him with an answer about what a yellow light means. I can't say anything more or I'll get hysterical. Best laugh. The second was when he bought a wall of tv's.
And Louie. Oy. My all time favorite episode ever was when he was alone in the garage, nobody there, he called out and not a soul - then he grabbed the loudspeaker mike and started singing like he was on stage. here's a link for that one, it's part of a compilation video and it's a long scene, but the part I'm talking about starts at 6:00 and runs till 7:47. Hit play and just run the cursor across to the 6 minute mark and click to play that part.
Laverne & Shirley because of the physical comedy aspect. They always got into the goofiest trouble.
I love Taxi too though. My favorite was when Reverend Jim took his drivers license test. What..... does.... a .... yellow .... light... mean? lol
Shew, that's tough. If you want "intelligent humor" whatever you call it, go with Taxi. If you want to see just silly, but funny stuff, go with L&S.
If you held me down to demanded a preference, I'd say Laverne & Shirley.
Liked Taxi just for the shear variety going on in the garage. Always had either Rev Jim,Ladka,Devito's character throwing in comedy on top of the main story line.
