Also, make the character really deep, with many layers in his personality, most of which are rarely revealed. That way, you could have character build up as the show progresses.
Good luck.
Cheers.
Monk: He would simply feel the guilt. to announce it to the viewer he would say "He's the guy." or "I don't know how he did, but he did it."
Psych: When ever Shawn saw clues they would zoom in on it and it would glow for the viewer, so we could have the same information.
Maybe you could mix them. The person hes feeling may have miner motions that you zoom in on. Then say to a coworker in privet "this is how he felt." Be careful though, not every murderer or thief feels "guilt".
well, that's most likely a low level of telepathy power... but idk if that would be at all interesting..... i mean....if he can only sense very vague feelings such as guilt... what makes it a supernatural power? those are things regular detectives, with no supernatural power, can figure out through interviewing.. people will tell lies, they'll notice whether they are fidgeting, how their voices sound, whether they are calm and what not...and of course... once they go out there and confirm the suspects alibis they're likely to find out what is it they were hiding... so idk if that power is at all really useful based on how u described it...
What about mind reading?
Hi, i've been given the task of pitching a new tv show for my school work. I have an idea for a show but I'm stuck with how to visualise an aspect on screen.
The show is about a detective solving crimes etc. but, the main character has the ability to sense how people are feeling, but not knowing why. For example, he might feel that someone is guilty, but it might not be for a murder or anything to do with the crime. It takes inspiration from a mix of heroes and lie to me if anyone has seen those shows.
Anyway, I'm stuck with how the viewer will visualise how the main character will know someones feelings. Could it be though sound, could he hear the word "guilt" or "happiness", or colour? I don't know.
