Packing for a stay in the hospital...?

Take a laptop or tablet, a video game or two would not hurt. A good book or two to keep you occupied. slippers and a robe, toothbrush and toothpaste ( they give you some at hospital but they are not very good), hairbrush or comb, paper pencil or pens - just in case you want to write things down, a list of the telephone numbers you might want to have with you, If you will be allowed to have candy - take some with you, A pack of baby wipes will work for quick clean up in the mornings since you cannot shower!

You really only need the clothes that you came in with, since you will be there for a whole week and you will be wearing one of their gowns if not your own. They also provide slippers/socking to wear too.

If you can bring your own electronic stuff you can do that for your entertainment since the 3 of you will be sharing the same TV ans such.

Bring your favorite books,magazines etc

That's about all you can do if you have to stay in bed the whole time.

I packed so much stuff and guess what I was given a gown and all my things were sent home ... I used nothing, I brought trial size deodorant, tooth paste, magazines etc and was able to use absolutely nothing ...... the hospital wants you to use their things, so you have to pay for them.

Take some books to read and deodorant.

I'm going to spend a week next month at a hospital, and I'll be restricted to my bed and the bathroom. I'm not allowed to shower or bathe during this time. I'll be sharing a room with 3 other people.

I've never stayed at a hospital before, and google brought up packing ideas for pregnant women/new mothers, not general patients.

I'm taking along some earplugs and a mask for my eyes... any other suggestions? Input from people with some hospital experience?
