But be warned: the show is very bloody, has a lot of sex & nudity, and is incredibly ruthless. No one is safe on GoT - no one. They have brutally killed off several lead characters - that everyone assumed couldn't die... but die they did. But with a huge cast, it just keeps on rolling... its audience growing bigger with each passing season.
Highly recommended.
As for "Dexter", yes, the last season is terrible. In fact, the last three seasons are weak. But the first four seasons are so damn good that they are definitely worth watching on their own. Simply watch the first four seasons, and then stop. You'll be ahead of the game.
You could try Almost Human, I mean it's kinda shitty but it's sorta refreshing and it got cancelled so there's like 12 episodes. I give it 5.5/10.
edit 6.5/10
Weeds! It's funny and intense
You might try Prison Break, 24, Heroes, Alias, Continuum, Orphan Black or Fringe.
ORANGE IS THE NEW BLACK LIKE OMG BEST SHOW EVER.. and same for me when I watched Dexter.
and ^ yeah definitely Prison Break & Heroes.
Psych and Sherlock are some pretty cool detective shows that are still going on. Doctor Who (start with the 2005 episodes if you're gonna watch it) is a really good sci-fi show as well. In the earlier 2005 episodes, the special effects kind of sucked, but later on it's nearly impossible to not be addicted. I haven't watched it much, but Supernatural is supposed to be an amazing show.
And if you're fine with anime, go for Attack on Titan.
I've watched a bunch of TV shows, but only just one or two of them I've been super obsessed with from beginning to end is Breaking Bad (I was like that with Lost too in S1-3). I'm looking for an addictive TV show, ended or still airing (but still airing would be slightly preferred), that doesn't get bad. I watched the first episode of Dexter and I wasn't super interested in continuing, mostly because I know that the last season sucks. I just want a show I can watch that's addictive and actually great. I need for the show to be on Netflix, HBO, Amazon Prime or Hulu. But I'm willing to try a, for example, Showtime show if I really like it.
