I have both of these brands in my house in various items and so far have not been able to fault either,although of course I have not thought to compare one against another until your question ?
They are both good brands. I tend to go with the theory that one brand cannot be jack of all trades - the old saying, jack of all trades, master of none.
I have many LG branded goods. I have an LG TV, which is very good. A Blu Ray as well, which is pretty decent too. And an LG washing machine - now that is one seriously good item! However, I also have an LG DVR, and while it does the job, I have had bad experiences with it. My first one did not last long. I did replace it with another LG, but still not confident with it. Next one I get will be a Panasonic (another very, very good brand).
As for Samsung, I love the S3 phone, but I don't really like Samsung as a brand (I have really odd reasons for it, but nothing to do with the quality of the goods!). They will make good products as well as others that may not be - just like anything else.
However, I mentioned Panasonic. Now that is a brand I rate as the best. I have had many Panasonic things in my time, and I have never been disappointed with any of them!
LG is good, but I think Samsung is better.
To be honest i have both these makes in my home and find them both give top class performance/ TV 50 inch LG / monitor for PC/ M obile phone/ no complaints from me about both makers .
Samsung far superior to everything else and the market leader in terms of performance!
Both very good quality ' old girl' so take your pick!
