Yeah I ran into this problem as well. Netflix usually can't put the new episodes on until they come out on DVD which is usually about a year after they come out on TV. So in the future record all episodes whether they are new or not, and maybe try hulu? You need an account and they have less shows, but newer episodes. Also if you haven't tried it, youtube. And for abc they only have the newest episodes that aired. One time I couldn't find the first episode of something so I just read the script for that episode online until it came out on Netflix. Hope this helps.
