Since when has 90 degrees been considered a heatwave?

It has "cooled" off to the 90s this week where I live and will go back to 103 on Friday and 106 for the weekend.

Depends on the area.

I was in Vegas for July 4th and it was over 95 degrees at midnight. The weather forecast called for a "cooling" trend that would go back into the 90s before going back into the 100s.

Meanwhile, anything over 80 is considered quite warm for San Francisco.

103? 106? Sounds like the weather currently happening in my part of Canada.

Temps dropped into the 90s during the night last night and I had to put a shirt on for the first time in 2 weeks.

I am not clear if the asker refers to America or Britain ? We are in the midst of a heatwave at the moment, with temperatures near to the 90s. Anything like that for more than a couple of days is regarded a heatwave in the UK. The last time we had such weather was 1976. I remember this as it was the American Bi Centennial of 1776. In America this must be quite cool in some places ?

By the way,I am gratified the asker uses Farenheit. We are stuck with Centigrade now !

Well said, sir!
