Supernatural question!?

It would be great but I think that they feel like it's too much like an invasion of privacy - from what we can tell, the published books at least were read by the brothers i.e. they bought all of them and Dean was reading the "racist truck" one and found that he was full frontal in it LOL. Anything from No Rest For The Wicked onwards was unpublished (Chuck probably wrote and just saved them) - and only put online later i.e. we find out everything up to Swan Song was published in S8 Pac Man Fever or S9 Slumber Party to which the boys didn't know had happened.

But yeah - it would probably save them so much angst if they read the books at least from 1-5 - but they've also grown up - motivations aren't the same, the stuff they did back then doesn't really apply now...they at least from 9 onwards to don't exactly rehash the bad stuff - sure if they lie and get caught out by the other its 'You always do this man WTF?' - but they don't bring specific examples anymore - the last time they Dean was in 8x23 Sacrifice - where Dean eventually let all of that anger go.

I think that would be great. Not just to better understand each other, but to understand themselves a bit better as well. Like Dean for example. He has such a low opinion of himself and I think if he could read how others (especially Sam bc Sam's opinion is the most important to him honestly) see him that he would realize how incredible he is. And like you said, Sam would finally realize exactly why Dean cares for him so much and why Dean protects him so fiercely. I think it'd be great, but sadly it will never happen....

wow I've never thought of that. I do believe that they would understand each other better, but things would probably get a bit more awkward between them because they know the things they hate about each other.

Yes. They would transform into penguins.

Do you think that anything would change between Sam and Dean if they sat down and read the supernatural books from beginning to end? Maybe they'd understand each other a little bit better.

As most of you know, Sam and Dean aren't quite as close as they were before due to misunderstandings and other drama. I know there aren't any books past season 5 since Chuck disappeared, but if they just read that much of the supernatural books then they could be a bit more understanding about why they did what they did.

Dean would know exactly how Sam feels when Dean treats Sam a certain way and Sam would understand why Dean keeps things from Sam so he'd stay safe, and so on and so forth. What is your input?

Perhaps they have and I missed it somewhere. But what is your opinion on their bond in general?
