The mentalist...awesome show with brilliant acting and story. The show follows Patrick Jane an independent consultant with the California bureau of investigation based in Sacramento, California. Although not an officer of the law he uses his skills from his former career as a successful yet admittedly fraudulent psychic medium to help a team of CBI agents. The ultimate goal of his cooperation with the CBI is to track down the serial killer Red John who was responsible for the brutal murders of his wife and daughter.
If you like suspense then this is the show for you! Start from season 1 or you will be lost. So give it a try!

Sherlock: modern day sherlock holmes and Watson assist the Metropolitan Police Service mainly detective Lestrade in solving various crimes. Awesome show you will get really addicted!
Castle: a show about Richard castle a best selling mystery novelist and Kate beckett an NYPD homicide detective as they solve unusual crimes in New York.
Devious maids: about 4 latina maids working in the homes of Beverly Hills's wealthiest and powerful families and a newcomer who made it personal after a maid is murdered.
American horror story and Supernatural are great too if you like the horror genre! :)
big bang theory , how i met your mother , modern family are awesome if you like comedy !
I love parks and rec! I don't normally watch tv but love parks and rec. and Don't trust the B in apartment 23, it is funny. Also try raising hope you will know from episode 1 if you will like it
I would reccommend:
Community (Season 1-2)- It's a comedy series with very "nudge nudge," off humor that I think you can enjoy.
Mad Men
Game of Thrones- Can't say you'll like it, but I initially had no interest in seeing it at first myself. I watched the entire 3 seasons so far in a couple days. It's well worth a watch!
Six Feet Under
30 rock, community, the office (seasons 2-4), HIMYM, South Park
Breaking Bad -- Give season 1 episode 1 a try. If that hooks you, keep on watching.
