if you mean Sherlock- it is because the Co-Creators and Writers of Sherlock Also produce and write Doctor Who in the same year- they are Extremely Busy men making 2 major shows each year- they have little if any Time off between the 2- making a one hour drama can take Months to make
Doctor Who is in production 6-9 months per year alone
and remember the Actors on Sherlock have been Very very busy doing movies and other things
they have No Time to do any more Episodes-
They don't work the same way as the US, the UK generally uses just one or two writers, the same goes with UK sitcoms, a season is around 6 or 7 shows for the same reason, I can think of two top UK shows that ran for over 20 years with same writer, one guy never got involved with the making at all he just sent the scripts in my post and no one ever changed one word, actors like to be free to appear on TV in films and on stage, they don't just do one role..
the only two british shows i've watched are doctor who and being human, and they both have like around 8-13 episodes per season.
It could be because the actors are doing other things ! Cumberbatch and Freeman were in LOTR ect recently.
I wish pele who didn't write Conan Dolye's Sherlock would QUIT the lawsuits!!!!'
it isn;t hollywood, the BBC has much less money so they do a few episodes, instead of trying to streach out the budget
This really bugs me, why do shows in the Uk only last 2-3 episode per season? It's like I get really into a show, then the season is over...
