They are two completely different shows. Seinfeld is about sarcasm(like Monte Python ect...). Most ESL people can not get the sarcastic humor. Friends was a straight forward comedy and with a basis in the connection between the cast(they loved and cared for each other). It is not bad to like one and not the other, just know that you were not the target audience for Seinfeld. If you lived in NYC, you would get it.

Seinfeld was great because it was the one different show in a sea of sitcoms that all felt the same back then. I like Friends better, though. Chandler alone is funnier than the whole Seinfeld gang. Also, I can't have any discussion on sitcoms without mentioning my love for Arrested Development.

I know a lot of people who loved Seinfeld and just as many who thought it was the dumbest show ever made. But almost everyone of those people loved Friends.

Personally I liked both.

I intensely dislike both shows.

i never found it very funny and i know this has been a huge debate over which is better Friends, or Seinfeld but i go with Friends hands down. Mostly because i find the show really funny opposed to Seinfeld.
