I would say the vampire diaries, it's a really good show. It has supernatural creatures, love triangles, werewolves and it's really good. I recommend you watch it. Although, people have different opinions. So I suggest u watch first epi of both and decide. Just that u know the vampire diaries gets way better season after season.

Walking dead is WAY MORE gruesome
Ages 15+ ( only cuz it's easier to understand when your older)
I love both but Vampire Diaries is my favorite.
Walking Dead is definitely more gruesome.
