Was anybody else annoyed by season 6-9 of supernatural?

For bits and pieces of it. After season 5 you could tell that they were struggling for ideas and that costed them in scripts and execution. Souless!Sam was actually quite an interesting turn though the plot around the brothers at that points wasn't all that clear for a while esp. in the first half of the season, it got better with Levi!Cas and Godstiel. Season 7 I admit was all kinds of weird. Leviathan though a solid idea - really lacked the punch in the gut that most baddies had - they were not scary at all...again best part of that season was Hallucifer and Sam fighting with each other in Sam's head and Crazy!Cas in the latter season. This was the end of Sera's reign.

Season 8 was didn't really kick off well at the start...like at all, Sam/Amelia was annoying and it's a shame that Purgatory wasn't more fully explored. The show definitely caught some steam once the boys found out about the Men Of Letter though ultimately that wasn't explored in full either. The trials to close the gates of hell were great though. Season 9, eh, a little iffy. Wasn't a big fan of Gadriel's possession of Sam, and the 'oh you lied to me Dean...again!' Though the Mark of Cain storyline in the second half of the season was quite cool and Metatron was an effective enough villian that people actually loathed him.

I think the main issue with 6 onwards is that there isn't a *main* over arching concept. It's bits and pieces without an endpoint. 1-5 were great because although they did have their own storylines within season when you watch the whole thing together everything ties in beautifully to create a coherent story. So far we aren't getting that story from 6 onwards - there's no clear endpoint.

(Sorry for long post - I just really really really love Supernatural...like a lot)

Season 5, when Sam went into the pit was supposed to be the series finally but because of the actors, network, and fan support they continued it. So season 1-5 was so cohesive because it was planned that way, but after season 5 they were trying to continue the boys lives with new obstacles, the whole "new baddie each season, vanquished by the finale" thing. That's why it seems not as good. Personally I like all the seasons, season 9 was a bit 'eh' but still I love the show too much to not love every season.

I do agree though that season 1-5 were the best, but come on, how can you not love souless Sam.

Yes, it went downhill from the end of season four, they got a new showrunner for season 5 and a another different one for 6 - 10

actually Eric Kripke was showrunner from season 1-5,he step down after that and even wanted the show to end but I guessing the network disagreed because of the shows popularity.

Yesssssss!

Yeah same here. Not really annoyed though, more like disappointed.
