What do Australians think about Julian Assange (Wikileaks)?

Personally : dont know but probably not positive

Rape charges : they reflect the law in Sweden but it is truly bizarre & would be dismissed in most countries

Ecuador asylum : no doubt US has done a cosy deal with Sweden for further extradition

Wikileaks : classified communications are classified for good reason ; however they should that successive US governments have lied to us and have alliances with the most corrupt, violent, oppressive regimes imaginable . Why has hiding these abominations in our interests : http://www.christianpost.com/news/saudi-... (other than cheap oil)

Legality : how is it different from the "Pentagon Papers"?

1. australia didn't do it's part to declare protection of their journalist

2. you need to check your "facts"

you have inadvertently become part of the cover up by repeating untrue claims that are only put forward as part of a campaign to discredit wikileaks.

If you were really following the leaks and learning about wikileaks you would know about the planting of false information and fake leaks in an attempt to discredit wikileaks by a variety of companies, some hired by shadow governmental organizations.

It's now likely that networks of computers, taken from spammers recently in governmental actions, may now be used in cyber attacks against wikileaks and the Occupy movement. This whole week the largest cyber attack has been going on, supposedly in retaliation for recent publishing of information about a large warrant-less surveillance program.

This appears to have been undertaken by a consulting company in conjunction with the intelligence community using public and private cameras all over the country combined with facial recognition software and the hacking of social media , financial/credit card info, and phone and computer GPS information.

Please try using other sources for information other than Faux news and it's affiliates

NOTE: it's not too hard to type in wikileaks.org, but I'll make it easy on you, the two releases I mention are on the front page.

What he released was the truth, end of story, if the Americans hadn't gone into these countries then the American supporters (whoever they are) wouldn't be in any danger, let the authorities chase him around like some benny hill sketch he is only a tiny fraction of wikileaks and there are other sites cropping up, its a complete waste of taxpayers money but so is everything our governments do, so long as the truth keeps coming Assange doesn't matter, and so long as these sites keep unearthing the disgusting behaviour of the American government and their brainwashed thugs the more chance decent Amercians have of getting rid of them to give us all peace.

At one time he was a hero for doing what he did and many people supported his actions but now it appears that the public's perception of him is one of ambivalence and no one really cares that much .

The founder of Wilikeaks, who published top secret information on American foreign operations. This lead the the executions of hundreds of American supporters, and their families, in Iraq, Afghanistan, and other countries.

Do Australians think he is a hero or a menace to western society.
