Nothing happened to it. It just moved on. We grew up now, so new cartoons for children are immature now. The old cartoons are still good to us because they were a vital part of our entire childhood. Networks can't keep playing old episodes of cartoons forever just for our nostalgia. Other cartoonists with fresh ideas wouldn't make any money or be without jobs and Cartoon Network showing reruns would only lose money and viewership for being too repetitive. Boomerang is one of Cartoon Network's programs that show reruns, but you can also buy shows on DVD or watch them online too for that nostalgia.

Things have gone wrong since like 2006, when Joseph Barbera died. They don't have any more cartoons left. And... the ridiculous growth of Otakus (Anime Fans) Has caused it to add those silly Japanese cartoons.

You know that population of Anime fans is far more than us, right?

I don't know, you see the new kids CAN enjoy those old cartoons that vanished before their birth. Sometimes it just seems Carton Network doesn't know what kids like. But that's not truth. Because the new generation of kids is unaware of those Classics, it just enjoys the current shows. And that's what CN is raising.

Sad. Seems like my cartoon world has been destroyed. :'(

I miss them all, too. Like Flintstones, Yogi Bear, Johnny Quest, Hong Kong Phooey and Goober and the Ghost Chasers and Richie Rich and What not.

You just got to deal with it.. I hate these kinds of questions because it saddens me to see these great shows that actually made me laugh gone. Nickelodean too also lost its great shows. Suprisingly Spongebob is still up. Only because it has a strong reception, people does not want it go stop. It will eventually, because all good things come to an end. Nowadays, there are no genius and creative jokes. No good writers. Nothing good like mid 2000s. Its all just gone. Unless the future of these channels improve, all we can do is wait and see.

Bad economic times means less money that sponsors want to sink into producing quality shows. It isn't just Cartoon Network, but it shows.

You fail to realize the current level of stupidity our world is being forced into. The showings now on our childhood cn are dumbed down, obviously more racist & a lot of gay influence... Worse than sponge Bob!! Watch a few episodes of young justice & you'll soon realize the racism of super boy & the gayness of certain aspects.

It had sooo many good shows like Dexters Laboratory, Powerpuff Girls, Foster's Home for Imaginary Kids, Courage the Cowardly Dog, Billy & Mandy, What's New Scooby-Doo, Looney Tunes, Ed, Edd, N Eddy, Johnny Bravo, My Gym Partner's a Monkey, Codename: Kids Next Door, Camp Lazlo, Teen Titans, Justice League, Samurai Jack, Cow and Chicken and many more

Why is Cartoon Network so bad now? It's one of the most ignored channels.

Why cant they at least show reruns of the old shows? They show like 2 shows I listed , but why not show majority of the old shows that were much better than the ones today
