You must mean Ricky Gervais. He's did the movie Invention of Lying or something like that which was decent. He did Idiot Abroad with his friend Karl Pilkington which was GREAT in the first season. You need not watch past the first season. Trust me. You'll want to after watching the first season, but don't do it.

He did another show with Pilkington where they were animated, talking to karl and making fun of him. Stephen Merchant was in that as well. That was good...I think it was called the Ricky Gervais Show. He did an HBO show called Extras which wasn't very good. He did a show with the dwarf who played Willow, Warwick Davis i think. Davis played a fictionalized version of himself who was a bit of a d*ck. That show wasn't very good.
