United States of Tara is very good and has some excalent gust stars in it. Also if you haven't watched Firefly yet it is a must see only 1 season but it also had a movie based of it and that was very nice as well.
Have you tried Raising Hope? Its pretty funny. Kinda like a modern day Roseanne.
