What is your overall thought on The Simpsons?

The older episodes are a lot better then the recent ones, same goes for family guy. I stopped watching both shows for this reason.

I have a certain loyalty to The Simpsons... Although, Futurama is a much better show.

Family Guy didn't invent HD.

I have enjoyed every season of The Simpsons.

I don't think FG is a copy of The Simpsons.

I liked episodes 4-7 of FG the best. Too many poop jokes now and too much gross-out humor.

Here's my thought...like most people, I thought the 90's episodes were awesome. I know a lot of people lost respect for the episodes from 2000 onward. Personally, though, I liked the early 2000 episodes. I didn't think they were great but I thought they were pretty good. I lost respect for The Simpsons when they started doing HD episodes. To make matters worse, The Simpsons apparently took the HD idea from Family Guy's HD episodes, when Family Guy is pretty much a copy of The Simpsons, lol. What are your thoughts?
