Pretty little liars!!! My fave show ever! Or you could also watch the vampire diaries, and the originals, theyre quite good too but not as amazing as pretty little liars!!! I dont think they have all four seasons of it on netflix though. But still watch it you wont regret it !!!
Well... I like anime... Its the only thing I watch on Netflix. If you were to watch an anime watch Sword Art Online.
TV shows: Supernatural, Once upon a Time, Wonder Years, North & South, Tin Man, New Girl.
Movies: The English Patient, Timeline, The Fifth Element, Robinson Crusoe.
I think the best thin you could do is to rate the things you have seen then it will tell you what shows you may like.

I haven't had netflix since early 2013, but I liked Supernatural, Heroes, maybe 1-2 seasons of Lost then I started hating it.
Now I'd suspect them to have The Walking Dead. That is a good series
Do they have Fringe? That series is pretty awesome too.
I didn't like that they don't always have original voice language for a lot of non-American movies/series. A lot of Chinese movies only had dub options, as well as many of the anime.

It depends on what your looking for . For exampleif you want funny you should watch The Office or Parks and Recreation. But if you want something dramatic and fantasy like you should try American Horror Story , Bates Motel, or The Vampire Diaries.I've seen all these shows on Netflix and they're amazing.
