Obviously there were very many as the 20th century encompasses the two world wars and the 20s and 30s and 6o s.all very iconic periods. Its impossible to name any particular one I could choose the great war Song by Vera Lynn "White Cliffs of Dover."
"EVE OF DESTRUCTION", Written in 1965 by P. F. Sloan. The best recording of the song would be by "Barry McGuire".
If you haven't heard it yet, check it out yourself on You Tube. What is amazing about this song is that it was written & recorded 47 years ago and it is still relevant to these days. Everything sung then could be applied today. It is timeless.
