the creators/writers of Sherlock are currently making Doctor Who and will be doing that for several months yet- they cannot make 2 TV series at the same time
and the actors are in Extremely High Demand right now

If history is an indicator, we're looking for late 2015 or early 2016. Fangirls around the globe are already cursing the name Moffet. (I guess that would be "still cursing")
Probably next January.
They said next year but it looks like we will have to wait until 2016.
